The new Volkswagen Warranty Puts You First

Volkswagen announced in September that a majority of the company's new 2018 vehicles sold in the United States will feature the protection of the People First Warranty -- a six-year/72,000 mile (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper new vehicle limited warranty. What's even better about this warranty is that if you sell the vehicle while it's still active, the warranty may be transferred to the next owner.

First introduced for the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas and Tiguan SUVs, the People First Warranty now also covers these Volkswagen vehicles:

  • Golf
  • Golf Alltrack
  • Golf GTI
  • Golf R
  • Golf Sportwagen
  • Beetle
  • Beetle Convertible
  • Jetta
  • Passat

The warranty provides six years or 72,000 miles of powertrain coverage for engines, transmissions and 4Motion all-wheel-drive systems, differentiating it from warranties offered by most Volkswagen competitors. Those usually consist of a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty teamed with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

In a press release, Hinrich J. Woebcken, President and Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Group of America, stated, "Volkswagen has always been ‘the people’s car,’ and with the People First Warranty, we’re putting our customers first. By bringing the right cars, at the right time and making the offer very competitive, we believe we’re in the position to grow in the US market."

At Umansky Motor Cars, we're proud to serve drivers from the Milwaukee, Glendale, Wauwatosa, West Allis and Greenfield areas.
